13 ene 1919 año - The Amritsar Massacre

Descripción:

The British introduced the Rowlatt Acts, giving them power to arrest Indians suspected of going against the government. Gandhi strongly opposed this law. On April 13, 1919, in Amritsar, a large group of peaceful protesters gathered in a field, unaware that public meetings were banned. General Reginald Dyer, the British commander, ordered his soldiers to shoot at the crowd, resulting in the deaths of 400 people and injuring 1,100 others.
