Descripción:
During the period of 597–586 BCE, the Neo-Babylonian Empire, led by King Nebuchadnezzar II, exerted control over the Kingdom of Judah and orchestrated the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem. As recounted in the Hebrew Bible, the final king of Judah, Zedekiah, witnessed the execution of his sons before having his own eyes gouged out and being exiled to Babylon (2 Kings 25).
