27 feb 1933 año - The Reichstag building is set on fire

The Reichstag building was set alight and burned down due to arson. However the origins of the fire are still unclear to this day, in a propaganda maneuver, the coalition government (made up of Nazis and the Nationalists) blamed the Communists. They used the fire to secure the approval for an emergency decree from President Hindenburg, that suspended the individual rights and due process of law. The decree was then a major step forward into the Nazis dictatorship.
