Even though Hitler was convicted of treason and he was sent to prison. He was out by the end of the year. But with his time in prison he had a more luxury life for an inmate.
Prison guards allowed him to wear his civilian clothes, to meet with other inmates as he pleased, and to send and receive many letters. The prison guards also allowed Hitler to use the services of his personal secretary, Rudolf Hess,a fellow inmate convicted of high treason.
During his time in prison, Hitler dedicated his time to the first volume of his infamous autobiography, Mein Kampf.
