The Little Rock Nine were the first African American students to go to school with white kids. At first, the Governor of Arkansas ordered the National Guard to the school, and prevented the kids from entering the school. However, President Eisenhower summoned troops from the 101st Airborne to escort those kids to school and to their classes. This marked the true beginning of desegregation of schools, with it actually happening in person here.Añadido al timeline:
