16 ene 2024 año - MPs Resign over Rwanda Bill
Descripción:
This evening saw MPs in the Commons vote on a series of amendments to the government's Rwanda bill
A new draft of the bill - first mooted in June 2022 - was introduced to Parliament in early December 2023 - to make clear in UK law that Rwanda is a safe country
The bill passed its second reading in Parliament on 12 December 2023 and the third reading will happen tomorrow
Tory chairmen Lee Anderson and Brendan Clarke-Smith resigned their positions after saying they would back rebel amendments on the Rwanda bill - amid threats that those who went against the government bill would lose their jobs
