1 ene 1918 año - Impact of WW1 on Germany

Descripción:

Background info:
- Before the war, Germany was ruled by its Kaiser ( a dictator), their army was probably the finest in the world at the time, and the country was very strong and proud. Unfortunately, after the First World War, even though the physical war barely touched Germany, the country was badly effected afterward. People were starving, there were diseases, and the people had lost their pride. By the autumn of 1918, Germany had lost the war and was in a state of chaos. The allies offered Germany peace, but under one condition - Germany abdicated their Kaiser and became more democratic. Initially, the Kaiser refused, but after revolts and uprisings, the Kaiser abdicated in late 1919. The following day after the abdication of the Kaiser, the Socialist Leader called Ebert became the new leader of the republic of Germany, and he immediately signed an armistice with the allies. The war was over, and Ebert announced that Germany was now officially a republic.
