1 oct 1878 año - Edward B. Titchener (1867–1927)

Descripción:

British psychologist who played a significant role in the development of structuralism. He continued his studies in psychology at the University of Leipzig, Germany, under Wilhelm Wundt and spent his academic career at Cornell University, where he served as the head of the psychology department. Titchener focused on introspection, a method in which individuals reported their conscious thoughts and feelings in response to stimuli. He believed that complex mental processes could be broken down into simpler elements or components. Titchener played a key role in establishing the "experimentalists," a group of psychologists who adhered to the principles of structuralism (Boring, 1927 ; Benjamin, 2008 ; Leys & Evans, 1990).
