Ukrainian-born American psychologist, psychoanalyst, and psychiatrist. Sidis received his education in Russia and Germany before immigrating to the United States in the late 19th century. He was particularly interested in hypnosis and the power of suggestion. Boris Sidis developed his own system of psychology, often referred to as the "Sidis System." This system incorporated elements of psychology, psychoanalysis, and philosophy. It emphasized the role of the unconscious mind and sought to explore the hidden recesses of the psyche. He also conducted research on dissociation (Sidis, 1898 ; Montour, 1977).
