Descripción:

The priest and physician Hippocrates was active in a temple to the god of healing Asklepios on the island of Kos in the early 4th century BC. Instead of simply offering to the god and hoping that the patients got well, he tried to find out what made them sick. He also observed which treatments gave the best effect.
