THEATER STATED
The art of acting originated in Athens in the 5th century BC. It all started with a five-day religious festival in honor of Dionysus, the god of wine. During the party, a competition was held to see who best composed and performed choral songs in honor of the god. One way to win was to make the performance clearer. This could be done by introducing some spoken lines between the choruses. When the lines became more and more long, the first theater plays were created.
