17 feb 1969 año - First Small, Electric-Powered Six-Axis Robot
Descripción:
The first industrial robotic arm, dubbed "Unimate," was used to lift and stack hot, die-cut metal parts at a General Motors facility. Unimate's robots were big and hydraulically propelled, which led to leaks and restricted their use. They were designed by George Devol and his collaborator Joseph Engelberger. They had a rotating structure and could move up and down on the X and Y axes. Victor Scheinman created a tiny robot arm with electric motors integrated into the arm itself to operate its motions in 1969.
