21 jun 1983 año - The First Bi-Annual Pat McCormick River Race
Descripción:
Despite the fear of coming off as disrespectful, several people do arrive to Pat's entry with small, home-made boats. Some are well-crafted, others are more DIY, made of duck-tape and pool noodles. It isn't until Jenny and Jack McCormick, now 23, lower a doll, styled after their father, but lounging in a small tube floaty, sunglass on and a beer in his hand, into the water, did others begin to send theirs down as well. the crowd followed the racers, bets placed and in the end it was the Twin's Pool Time Pat that won. The park near Pat's Rock had been decorated, folding tables and chairs spread out and a group already cooking hotdogs and burgers on portable grills. People filtered in and out all day, some bringing more food, others instruments to fill the park with music.
