5 abr 1764 año - Sugar Act
Descripción:
The Sugar Act imposed a tax on sugar, coffee, wine, and other luxuries that were sent to the colonies. The Sugar Act also imposed stronger restrictions on smuggling. Because of salutary neglect colonists saw the tax as an infringement on their rights. The colonists didn't mind the tax but they thought it was unfair that they were being taxed without any representation in the British government. In response to the Sugar Act, colonists led a boycott of British goods.
