Descripción:

After several failed attempts by the Cubans to reject or modify the terms of the Platt amendment, the Cuban Constitutional Convention finally surrendered to American pressure and ratified it on June 12, 1901.The amendment permitted the United States to lease or buy lands for the purpose of the establishing naval bases and coaling stations in Cuba.
