On October 4th 1957 the Soviets launched the first orbiting space satellite. After this had occurred it generated a big boost in major educational changes in the United States education system. This included more government funding for schools and colleges and along with the further development of more instructional tools being created. This was a major point for Instructional Technology and Instructional Design.
