Colony founded by France in what is present day Quebec. France's relations with the Natives were less hostile compared to the Spanish, as the French an Natives engaged in fur trade with each other and even intermarried (Metis). Had limited effort to convert; used Jesuits for conversion, but allowed for Natives to keep their culture.
