The NASA Artemis missions establish the groundworks for the first semi-permanent Lunar Base. The first crew of Astronauts spend a total of 30 days at Luna A before their scheduled return to earth via the Lunar Gateway Space-Station, which progresses smoothly.

After seemingly losing their technological lead ahead of the rest of the world during the slow creep forwards, the incredibly fast under 3 year turnaround between the deployment of the Lunar Gateway and the first lunar surface mission to make use of it shocks the scientific world.
