In 1938, the first superhero of the DC Universe appeared: Superman. Kal-L, the last son of Krypton, going by the moniker of Superman, and with the human identity of Clark Kent, had been living on the planet Earth for years now learning to hone the superhuman abilities granted to him by the Earth's one yellow sun. When he was of age, Kal-L eventually set out to become a superhero, showing humanity how to be better through example. He prevented disasters and combatted villains, and inspired the people of Earth to stand up for one another. It wasn't very long after that more metahumans began to emerge from hiding, inspired by Superman to defend the innocent from the forces of evil. Later on, this event would be confirmed to have occurred on Earth-2 at this time. However, Earth-1's Superman, Kal-El, would have a very similar origin story, simply taking place at a later date.
