Descripción:

Due to the Kansas-Nebraska Act, both pro-slavery and antislavery citizens rushed to Kansas and Nebraska to claim residency hoping to affect elections of decisions for if the territory was for or against slavery. This started wars due to the opposing opinions on slavery.

Cause: Disputes between opinions of slavery and land.

Effect: Republicans and Democrats set into action trying to find a solution, and President Pierce did nothing to stop the violence.
