Mexicans first arrived at LA due to labor demands and employment. The growth in industrialization and growth called for more workers and offered job opportunities. As more Mexicans and Latinos began immigrating to LA, the suburbs began expanding and more people began moving towards LA due to already established migration patterns. Since then, the city has expanded and shaped the demographic and culture of LA.
