Schools had developed a brand new curriculum, specifically targeted towards white students, that contributed to patriotism. There were increased displays of patriotism in which children were forced and taught to sing patriotic songs and participate in flag ceremonies. It starts with saluting the flag…kneeling…singing the national anthem etc. These values were enforced in their schooling and became of common practice in 1921.
