large body of people congregate at st peters fields, protesting corn laws and demanding suffrage. magistrates order the leaders arrest, and yeomanry attempting to obey the order are surrounded by the mob. The Hussars were sent in to help, and in the melee 15 people were killed and about 500 injured.
