28 dic 1887 año - Thomas Edison

Descripción:

In the late 1800s Thomas Edison, the inventor of the lightbulb, patented a device called the kinetoscope. The device used 50ft of film that was on spools. This was powered by a motor. there was a light on the kinetoscope which on every frame flashed a quick burst of light when the shutter allowed it to. This created lots of continuous still images which gave what seemed to be a moving image. This was such a huge deal for the world because it was the start of film. Thomas Edison was a great inventor but he may not have been a nice man. Firstly he wasn't the person who actually made the kinetoscope. That was made by his assistant William Kennedy Laurie Dickson. Also he made the kinetoscope very expensive and destroyed another camera creations that rivalled his.
