1 ene 1932 año - Memex

Descripción:

As an alternative, Bush proposed an ideal machine, the "Memex" (contraction of memory expansion), which was to be an electro-optical system and no longer mechanical, based on the use of microfilm, which at the time was the most advanced and promising form of information storage. It was also a system in which an individual would record his books, his archive and his personal communications, mechanized so that he could be consulted with exceptional speed and versatility, a sort of "private expansion" of his memory. Its characteristics and the use that Bush envisaged of it, mainly of an individual type, make it an ancestor of today's personal computer. In defining an imaginary machine - in fact he knew that it was not yet feasible at the time - Bush made a selection among the technologies of the time and hypothesized what their future development would be, also reflecting on the consequences that such an innovation could have.
