Rail freight companies will be able to terminate their electricity contracts with SNCF Réseau from June, and negotiate with other energy suppliers at market prices, the Ministry of Ecological Transition announced on April 21.

"At the request of Clément Beaune, Minister Delegate in charge of Transport, the Board of Directors of SNCF Réseau has authorized rail freight operators to terminate their contract from June 1 to subscribe to more attractive market offers for the rest of the current year" said the ministry in a statement.
