Battle that took place near the city of Dyrrachium, and was fought between the Byzantine Empire, under Alexios I Komnenos, and the Normans of southern Italy, under Robert Guiscard. Resulted in a Norman victory that allowed the Normans to temporarily take control of most of Macedonia and Thessaly, until the Komnenian resotration occurred soon after.
