Descripción:
The United States purchased 828,000,00 square miles of land from France. The purchase added six states to the U.S. including Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. It also gave additional land to nine existing American states. As a result, the land needed to be settled bringing in opposing sides of slavery to each territory.
Cause: Political Tensions with the French and desire to make trade easier with other areas.
Effect: Expansion of product productions, requiring new slaves being needed in the years to come. Trade tensions in the future.
