3 sept 1783 año - Ending of the Revolutionary War

Descripción:

After the Battle of Yorktown, the final nail in the coffin of securing american independence, the British still occupied several places, including Charleston, Savannah, and their powerful main army in New York City. Even though there were still some small clashes between the two armies, neither the Americans or the British took major action in the war for two years. The inevitable removal of British troops from Charleston and Savannah signaled that the war that had been waged for over seven years was finally drawing to a close. Eventually, American and British negotiators in Paris, France, with John Adams and Benjamin Franklin leading the American side of negotiations, signed peace terms. Finally, on September 3, 1783, the Treaty of Paris was established, having England acknowledge that the United States of America was a sovereign nation, and not part of the British Empire, and ending the war once and for all.
