Brief disclaimer: the historical evidence surrounding Anna Strong is spotty at best, consiting mainly of tradition, however is is known that the British suspected a Long Island woman matching Strong's description of Patriot activities. Anna Strong was a neighbor of Woodhull's, and her job was to hang laundry on a clothes line as a way to signal when Brewster was ready to pick up information, and when there was information to be picked up.
