9 mayo 1672 año - The Declaration of Indulgence
Descripción:
The Declaration of Indulgence was a proclamation issued by King Charles II of England in 1672 that suspended the laws that punished people for not following the Church of England. The declaration was intended to grant religious freedom to nonconformists, who were mainly Protestant dissenters, as well as Roman Catholics.
The declaration was controversial, as it was seen by many as an attack on the Church of England and a step towards Catholicism, which was widely mistrusted in England at the time. In response to the declaration, Parliament passed the Test Act in 1673, which required all government officials to take communion in the Church of England,
