1 ene 1941 año - State and City Efforts to Keep White Population in the City

Descripción:

During the year 1941, the Chicago Plan Committee (CPC) noticed the a decreasing of numbers in the white population as they were leaving for the suburbs and moving out of urban areas. Also, the CPC noticed a decreasing of sales in the downtown area. So, in order to counteract what was occuring, the CPC decided to create a plan to attract white middle-class people back to the city.
During that same year, the state passed the Neighborhood Redevelopment Corporation Act which gave “community groups” or other entities jurisdiction to execute plans for areas that were deemed as slums or blighted.
