11 abr 2023 año - (EUROPE) - New target of 42.5% (instead of 32%) renewable energy by 2030

Descripción:

The negotiations for the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive have been concluded with a provisional agreement. The Member States have set the share of renewable energy to be used by 2030 at 42.5%. In the previous version of the directive, the target for 2030 was 32% of final energy consumption.

The European negotiations on the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) were completed on March 30, 2023. Introduced by the European Commission through the "Fit-for-55" legislation of July 2021, this revision was the subject of discussions on how to encourage the development of renewable energy in the European Union.

The provisional political agreement of March 30 is to be submitted to Coreper and then to the Parliament and Council for final adoption.
