The construction of Interstate 5, displaced many families in the Logan Heights community, as it bisected the community in two. It approximately displaced 1,500 families. Although the freeway, allowed people to travel and move easier around the city, the fumes and toxins from the cars were polluting the Logan Heights community, causing health disparities. The cars were also creating a lot of noise, and disregarding the community that lived there.
