1 ene 1521 año - Kidnapping of Francisco de Chicora

Descripción:

Francisco de Chicora was the baptismal name given to a Native American who was kidnapped along 70 others in 1521 near from Winyah Bay (see image 2), in Georgetown which is located in South Carolina. The Spanish understood the place to be called "Chicora". Francisco was enslaved to
judge Lucas Vazquez de Ayllon (see image 1), who forced him to talk about the wealth and beauty of his home country to chroniclers. Francisco´s reports about his home country were then spread across Europe. The report was used by the raiders to gain royal contract to conquer and settle in Chicora. Once the Spaniards landed in Chicora, Francisco managed to flee in 1526.
