Rouge falls into the trap of commander rafriel. He hires demon assassins to kill him but they manage to capture him using demon blood magic.Under threat of death Rouge confesses to his involvement with the church and offers to give him the staff in exchange for passage to avernus. Rafriel out of desperation for losing the war he accepts the offer.
