After Tara and Audrey realize they had both been secretly abused by Shaun when they were younger, they decide they want to “team up” to try and convince their parents that Shaun is not as safe as they think he is. However, this does not go well, and they end up being completely rejected by their parents, who just call them liars and refuse to hear what they try to tell them, declare followers of Satan. This is a big part of the reason why Tara ultimately gets completely shut out from the family and everyone associated with them.
