Just as Hitler and his brown shirts got recognising by the government and army the German president Paul von Hindenburg was 87 years old and on his death bed. This was good for the Nazi party because then Hitler could succeed him. Hitler decided that he didn’t want to be the president but the Fuhrer which meant that he would be the supreme leader of Germany.
Many people didn’t want this change though and wanted the Germany monarchy to come back into power.
On the 2nd of august that year the president died and mere hours later Hitler made an illegal law that his title must change from chancellor to Fuhrer.

4. Tried to get rid of the treaty of Versailles
5. When he became the dictator almost all aspects of life were controlled by the government.
