1 nov 1872 año - The First Silk Mill
Descripción:
The Tomioka Silk Mill was built by the Japanese Government in 1872, the first of its kind in Japan. It included 300 silk reeling machines, imported from France. Similar to their strategy with trains, the government brought a team of French technicians who trained Japanese workers. These workers were later able to pass their knowledge on at mills throughout the country. Today, the mill is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
