Descripción:

The Boston Tea Party occurred on December 16, 1773. It was a political protest against the British in defiance of the Tea Act. Protesters dressed up as the Mohawks (a group of Native Americans) and threw crates of tea worth millions of dollars into the ocean. The colonists were tired of the Tea Act and felt violated because they were being taxed without representation in the parliament, hence the slogan "No taxation without representation". The British responded harshly by throwing in more acts called the Coercive acts, which ended local self-government and closed Boston's commerce. Colonists responded by protesting harder and more frequently.
