ARC: People who valued the country more than they valued their own side of the slavery deabte would be happpy with this, as they hoped it would bring a solution to the slavery debate. But people who were very adamant about their side were not happy and did not want to compromise.
MIG: As part of the compromise, the Fugitive Slave act was ammended. This meat escaped slaves who tried to go North would be sent back down to their owners if caught up north trying to esacpe.
