The national assembly instated the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen. This was essential to gain support and find a way to get rid of Louis XVI.
This also led perfectly to the making of the constitution because the ideals of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen were represented heavily in the constitution.
