5 abr 1764 año - Vice Admiralty Courts Strengthened

Descripción:

The Sugar Act included a clause which transferred smuggling cases to vice-admiralty courts. Instead of local juries passing a friendly verdict, royally-appointed judges were paid to find merchants guilty. I still smuggle French goods, so a higher chance of being thrown in jail for my behavior is bad for my business. I will have to stop smuggling entirely and buy the more expensive goods from England. This will force me to raise my prices, lowering my ability to compete with smuggling merchants.
