in the beginning of 1629 the maldon grain riots was causing a big problem starting in Maldon caused by the poor harvest from the previous year this broke out a lack a food towards the people as at this time lamb wool was seen to be more valuable to trade with this also effect the food riot as it meant that farmer were just harvesting sheep not food as they knew they could get more money from it
