the Theory of the Four Humours
Descripción:
Ancient Greek doctor Hippocrates, known as the Father of Medicine, was the first doctor who considered that diseases were natural, and needed natural treatment such as sleep, exercise and diet change. He showed that recording symptoms of illnesses was important as it meant that they could identify future ailments. Around 400 BC he developed the Theory of the Four Humours. This stated that the body was made up of blood, phlegm, black bile and yellow bile, which lead to disease if not in balance. They were linked to the four seasons and the four elements.
