Battle of Trenton(1776). Led by General George Washington, the Continental Army was headed to Trenton but were attacked by the Hessians (the 30,000 German troops hired by the British to help them with the Revolutionary War). Though unexpected, Washington had won the Battle of Trenton. The Continental Army had captured nine hundred Hessian officers/soldiers in only one hour of fighting.
