Jelly Roll Morton was a ragtime and jazz pianist active from the early 1900-1940s. His contribution to music was so impactful he claimed to have invented Jazz music. While Jazz music had been around for a while, Jelly Roll was a unique composer that was able to create a powerful sounds that brought everything to life. For this, he can be properly dubbed the “father of jazz piano,” for his skills. Regardless of the fact his piano was slightly out of tune.
