Descripción:
Elvis Presley is a cultural icon and a turning point for Rock n Roll. He was born in Mississippi, died in Memphis.
In the beginning of his career people felt like they were taking a chance on him due to his particular style and initial lack of commercial success. With Sam Phillips, he recorded two songs at Sun Records for $3.25 each.
Presley defined poor white subculture, but also helped bring wider acceptance to black music in white audiences because of his massive youth appeal. He meant rebellion, a symbol of evil but yet a dream.
While he was an excellent performer, he wrote barely wrote any of his songs and was credited for only nine. Despite this, 149 songs of his songs appeared on Billboard's Hot 100 Pop Chart in America.
