17 sept 1787 año - The Constitiution
Descripción:
When the founders were forming the constitution, they excluded women when talking about rights, and it took many years for women to be included. Back then, women weren’t really people, they were housewives. The perfect housewife was polished and polite, always kept the house clean, made dinner, and took care of the children. She was loyal to her husband and his happiness. This lifestyle was what women were expected to do. They didn’t get an education, they didn’t have a paying job, and they did not have a say in anything that truly mattered.
However, this lifestyle only applied to white women. The people who had migrated to the United States and were now U.S. citizens by law were all white, and many of them owned slaves. Women in slavery were treated even less than white women and were often physically and sexually abused. If white women weren't included in the constitution, black women were even far more removed.
