21 jun 2011 año - June 2011: BP & Libya

Descripción:

Lord Bell told PR Week Bell Pottinger was actively working for the National Transitional Council, although no contract had yet been signed.

“Bits and pieces are going on… We are involved in it all, but no one has made any decision and contract. At the moment, the work we are doing for them is informal. Whether we will get in a situation with people in which it will come to something, I’m not sure.”

Bell did not elaborate on the nature of the work.

In 2011, Bell Pottinger was also approached by Moussa Koussa, the country’s foreign minister who defected from Gaddafi’s government, according to the EU Observer.

Bell said he declined the offer and instead said Moussa "should immediately stand trial" for his alleged involvement in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

Around the same time, Bell Pottinger began doing work for the London-based Mohammed El Senussi, the so-called “crown prince” of Libya, whose uncle Gaddafi deposed from the throne.

Senussi planned a tour of the Middle East to meet Libyan groups, which Bell Pottinger said was to arrange humanitarian aid for Libya.
